The CP53E is the IRS's way of saying there's a 6-week delay in processing — exactly the timeline we discussed at the office. You don't need to create an IRS online account, and your refund is still on the way.
We deeply appreciate the trust you've placed in our office this year. As of April 16 we shift to off-season hours — the first full week of every month. Reach out anytime in between if something comes up.
March 15 is the final day we can accept new documents through the secure portal or as a drop-off for the current tax season. Please get everything to us by then so we can finish your return on time.
February 28, 2026 was the final date to set up a refund-advance bank loan product in our office for this season. Returns are still prepared as usual — this only affects the advance-loan option.
The IRS officially opened the 2026 filing season on January 26, 2026. Returns filed before that date are held until processing begins.
The IRS is prioritizing direct deposit for all refunds this year to speed up processing. Under new IRS policy, choosing a paper check will delay your refund by at least six weeks. We strongly recommend direct deposit.
Today is the last day to request your Personalized Organizer with last year's information. Stop by the office or call us — we'll send the electronic copy through the secure portal.
