Our rates have increased for this year. Please see the "About Us" section for more information.
Extension of time to file
You don't need an extension if you're due a refund, but remember an extension doesn't give you more time to pay if you owe taxes. You must fully pay what you owe by the original tax deadline to avoid additional penalties and interest.
Note your state will need an extension payment as well if you owe (information below). However, if you do not owe, Indiana (like most states) accepts the Federal extension without having to separately file an extension.
You can process an extension of time to file with the IRS easily. If you're making a payment, you can make an extension payment online through the IRS Payment link on our homepage. Making the extension payment extends your return automatically according to the IRS here.
If you're not making a payment to the IRS, you can put your demographic information on the IRS Form 4868 and mail it to the appropriate address for your state (if you're having trouble with the above link, you can navigate to https://www.irs.gov/filing/where-to-file-paper-tax-returns-with-or-without-a-payment)
To make an extension payment to Indiana, please see our Gov't Services Page and use the "Indiana State Payments" instructions to make the extension payment.
