Post 01 - Nikki's absence - "Here we go again"

Nikki here, reaching out to you with an important update. I consider you more than just clients; you are family. I want to ensure we stay connected during this tax season, which marks the first time I won't be physically present in the office since I started the business in 1986. Since I will not be able to see my client family, I wanted this blog so we can at least have some level of communication.

I will share More as time goes by, but here’s a start. I started my medical treatments on Jan 12th. Everything went well although I’m feeling tired. However, I am relieved the process has started. The current treatment course will last 6 months, and I anticipate some ups and downs. I hope to bring you guys along this year and answer some questions since my last round of treatments.

I was really hoping to be able to at least come into the office to visit and explain things in person; however, my health (and doctor) will not allow it. I appreciate everything you have done for me in the previous years and allowing me to be part of your life. In order to make sure you guys are served closer to how you were in the past, we will not be taking on any new clients that we haven’t prepared the last 2 years. We’re blessed that 85% of you have been with us for over a decade. So we feel an obligation to make sure we best serve those that have kept us in business all these years.

In the meantime, please keep me in your prayers. It’s been a trying year, but I am blessed and all is well. Prayers for health and the fruits of the spirit are appreciated for me. Prayers for knowledge and clarity for the doctors that we’re on the right path.

Nikki & Family,

I would like to began by saying Nikki has been part of my family since before I was born. Her brother Barry was my papaw's best friend. The Paddock clan and the Keown clan were quiet close. I have been going to Nikki Sexton and her kids to get my taxes done since I was old enough to work. I loved this time of year not because it's tax season but because I got to see those my grandparents were so close to and could talk about the memories they all had together and how times have changed with timing and busy schedules and the loss of loved ones along the way. It is with a heavy heart to hear and see Nikki has gained her wings. I know she's up there celebrating the reunion with her other loved ones as well as he life long friends. May God bless the entire family and provide the strength they need during this difficult time. Nikki, you were the best!!!! And you shine through your babies. May you R.I.P and wear them wings proudly. Prayers and love from me and my family here on earth as well as those in heaven!
